Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of understanding of the theory with the practice value of the machining process of class Xl students of engineering techniques in SMK N 2 Palembang Analysis of the data used by descriptive and statistical analysis of the analysis involving independent variables about the understanding of the theory (X) and the dependent variable about the ability practice (Y). The population of this research is all students of class Xl in SMK 2 Palembang as many as 67 people. Sampling using a total sampling of 67 people. The data collection technique of this study was to use test questions and documentation. The results showed the following results: 1) The average value for understanding the theory was 76.34 Median (Me) of 75, Mode (Mo) of 65, and Standard Deviation (SD) of 15.5 (2). the average score for the practice value is 82.65 Median (Me) of 83, Mode (Mo) of 80, and Standard Deviation (SD) of 5.9. And the results of the analysis of the correlation of people from the product moment obtained is 0.249. This shows that the study of the relationship between understanding the theory with the value of the practice of engineering techniques has a relationship where the relationship is categorized as having a low relationship.
