Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of seagrass on Kelagian Island, to know the density of seagrass, and the accuracy of Lyzenga's method for identifying seagrass beds using Landsat 8-OLI imagery. This research already implemented in May 2018 at 17 water stations in the Kelagian Island, Lampung Bay. This study used image data processing methods and field surveys. The results showed that there were 3 types of seagrass, there are Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, and Cymodocea rotundata. The distribution of seagrasses in the water of Kelagian Island is 29.34 Ha. The determination coefficient between the blue channel spectral value and seagrass density values in the field are R2 = 0.9542 indicated that the correlation has a high relation. The level of accuracy in classifying seagrasses with the Lyzenga method reaches 75%. The map that integrated the spectral value of the blue channel with the seagrass density value produced 3 classes, there are rather tight, tight and very tight.
