Abstract

This research aims to find out the perception Arab towards endogami marriage in This research aims to find out the perception Arab towards endogami marriage in RT. 01 Kuto Batu, Ilir Timur II Sub-district Palembang. The population was 72 people. The sample consisted of two group namely Arab society that performs endogami marriage and Arab society dont performs endogami marriage. Data collection techniques used are documentation, question form, and interviews. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, average value of Arab society that performs endogami marriage was 125.67 and Arab society dont performs endogami marriage was 104.34 which means that in general the arab community in RT.01 Kuto Batu toward endogami that performs and don’t performs endogami marriage have a positive perception was >102.5 (positive). This means the general Arab community in the village RT.01 Kuto Batu agree with marriage custom Arab community to maintain the cultural heritage of the Arab community, keep the lineage, maintain of relasitionship between reatives preserved endogami marriage or not, depends on how a person against endogami marriage ad long as the rules were accepted by a community well, don’t devite religion law, the perception of the indigenous customs will be positive and it will be preserved
