Abstract

This study aims to make an automatic coconut grater using a current sensor that will stop working when the grated coconut has run out. This research was conducted at the Energy and Electrification Laboratory, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. Conducted in March 2019 until May 2019. Parameters observed were power requirements, electric current, voltage, machiner capacity, vibration. Power requirement of the result showed that coconut shredder machine was 122,9 watt with 0,43 A current at nowaday when the machine loaded with coconut the current rised to 0,5 A and avarage 206,04 V. Engine capacity coconut graters within 5 minutes of dissolution can produce 650 grams of grated coconut and the vibrations produced by the grater machine when making a solution within 10 seconds is 0.219 mm.
