Abstract

The purpose of information technology is to be able to eliminate the distance and time limits between several interested places. essay is a report made to complete the undergraduate level (S1) education, but in essay making activities in conducting the essay guidance process is still done in a conventional way (face to face) and contrary to the purpose of information technology. Therefore we need a system that can assist in the essay guidance process that is constrained by distance and time. The goal to be achieved from the development of the system is the creation of an essay guidance based online android system that can be accessed on mobile devices by the user and can be controlled by the admin through the website. The methodology used in the design is the Agile Extreme Program (XP) methodology. Some of the tools used in the design include analysis of 5W + 1H and SOAR at the planning stage, UML 2.0 diagrams at the design stage, CodeIgneter, Ionic and AngularJS framework at the coding and phpmyadmin stages at the stage of database creation (construction stage). Stages of testing are carried out using the black box testing method. The final result to be achieved in this design is an android-based mobile application that can be loaded on the Google Play Store so that it can be used and useful for users (students and lecturers) in the essay guidance process, especially students and lecturers at Sriwijaya University.
