Abstract

WHO states that mental disorders are serious problems that greatly affect the productivity and quality of health of individuals and the community. The number of health problems is increasing, making public health centers as basic services must be easily accessed by the community. This study implements the implementation of community-based health services in the city of Palembang. Research method with qualitative design. Informants in the study were selected purposively as many as 15 key informants, namely the program manager of health at the Health Office and community health centers, leaders of public health centers, doctors, nurses, and 11 ordinary informants namely cadres and ODGJ families using data saturation. Data collection techniques with in-depth interviews, field observations and document review. Data analysis in this qualitative research is content analysis using the colaizzi method. Triangulation used is triangulation of data, methods and sources. Results showed in the community still lack of knowledge and stigma of society is still negative about mental health, economic support does not inhibit access to mental health services, not good family support before Utilizing mental health services, while on mental health services in public health centres are still limited to well-trained human resources, good emotional support can motivate patients, home visits can expand service access Mental health, a level referral system, and unroutine supervision. Mental health Service in the city of Palembang has not been running well so that the scope of mental health services has not reached the target. This research suggests that the Palembang health service improves monitoring of mental health services in public health by observing the quality of human resources, enhancing the efforts of mental health promotion and Community empowerment.
