Abstract

Water apple (Syzygium samarangense) is a family plant of the family Myrtaceae which has pharmacological activity as antioxidants. This research aims to isolate flavonoid compounds from endophytic fungi biomass of guava stem skin. The study began with socletation and evaporation of the cultivation and extraction of endophytic fungi until concentrated extracts of methanol were obtained. The concentrated methanol extract was separated and purified by secondary metabolites using chromatographic techniques. The structure of the compound was determined based on spectroscopic data analysis including spectrophotometry UV-Vis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and antioxidant activity tested using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikril hidrazil) method. One pure compound was isolated as 10 mg yellowish white crystals. Based on the results of spectroscopic data analysis and comparing with the literature, pure isolates from the flavonoid compounds of the flavonol group were proposed. Pure compounds have IC50 values of 56,9304 ppm and are categorized as active antioxidant activities. Keywords: Endophytic fungi, Syzygium samarangense, antioxidants, flavonoids, and spectroscopy.
