Abstract
The research objective was to determine effect of flooding irrigation by using permeable layer on root growth of chilly crop (Capsicum annum L.). Method used ini this study was descriptive method through direct field observation and results were presented in form of tables and graphs. Treatments in this research were A1B1C1, A1B2C2, A1b1C1, a2B2c2 and A2B1C2. All treatments resepectively had two replications with 16 pots. Thirty teo pots were broken during 35 days and 70 days after planting to observe root leght increment, whereas other 16 pots were broken during harvest. The results showed that the best results ini term of root growth was found on A2B2C2 treatment with root length increments of 4,9 cm, 14,75 cm and 44,8 cm during 35,70 and 116 day after planting, respectively. The best of semi permeable layer media was found on A2 treatment having thickness of 1.5 cm. The best of soil height and flooding height were 32 cm and 8 cm respectively.
