Abstract

Preeclampsia is a blood pressure of more than 140/90 mmHg during pregnancy morethan 20 weeks. Preeclampsia can occur at more than 34 weeks' gestation or late onset preeclampsia and less than 34 weeks or early onset preeclampsia. Age, parity, body mass index, education level, and previous history of preeclampsia are important risk factors. The purpose of this study is to be able to see whether there are differences in characteristics and risk factors in early onset and late onset preeclampsia, in multigravida pregnancies at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This type of research is a descriptive observational study with cross sectional design. The research sample of 134 people was taken using a total sampling technique from secondary medical record data in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Section at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang from January to December 2018. A total of 46 people (71.9%) with age over 35 years experienced late onset preeclampsia. The level of education is less than the same as high school is the highest number that experienced preeclampsia. There are 54 pregnant women (83.1%) with obesity experiencing late onset preeclampsia. There was a significant difference between obese pregnant women in early onset preeclampsia and late onset preeclampsia (p = 0.03). A total of 85 pregnant women without a history of previous pregnancy hypertension are at risk of developing late onset preeclampsia (PR = 1.065). Mothers with parity greater than 2 have the risk of having late onset preeclampsia (PR = 1.042).
