Abstract

This reseach is descriptive that aims to identify grade XI student’s mathematical thinking aspect reasoning in topic sequences and series through inquiry. The test is consist of 3 problems. The subject for this research students from XI IPA 1 class of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan. The learning process adjusted with the inquiry pahses. The data collection technique used in this research are test, interview, and documentation. The result of this research is that after learning through inquiry the subjects are showing mathematical thinking aspect reasoning through the appearanced of the indicators and indicator perception of generality (inductive reasoning), use algorithms in calculations and make conclusions (deductive reasoning), collect facts and test assumptions (logical analysis).
