Abstract

Reclamation of tidal lowland in South Sumatra was done since 1969, it was about 370.000 ha have been developed for agriculture purpose. Research study carried out on land with dominance of typology A (wet) in the delta Telang J Conditions of climate change in the future has to be mitigated, mainly due to land subsidence and sea level rise. Computer simulations carried out by creating some scenarios. Decreasing the soil surface between 0.3 to 0.5 em I year, and sea level rise on average 0.5 em I year was taken in the basis of the simulation. Studies show the existing condition of the lowest area in the range of 1.25 to 1.50 above sea level in the primary 8, Conditions such land has the potential to double cropping of rice and a review of the field shows tend to be more wet land. As for the area being localed at higher altitude is at an elevation above sea level from 1.5 to 1. 7 is in western part of Primmy 8, and in the north of primary 5. The area is only a potential in one time planting for rice and rainfed rice. While for areas that have a height topography between 1. 75 to 2 m above sea level, is only potential for rainfed rice. Combination of soil subsidence and sea level rise will change the pattern of tidal lowland management that had been recommended. For that needed landand water management strategies for the primary purpose of food cultivation in tidal lowland can be sustained. This paper will present the results of GIS analysis conducted/or the scenarios a/the type 0/overflow due to climate change in the condition at scenarios of 2020, 2040, 2060 and 2100. Hydrological network infrastructure requirements need to be prepared and should take into consideration the change in the type of hydro topography as the impact of climate change.
