Abstract

Total Fertility Rate Indonesia is above the ASEAN average of 2.4 per 1000 WUS and continues to experience a stagnant period in the last 4 periods. In addition, the Maternal Mortality Rate in Indonesia is still high at 359 per 100,000 live births. Long-term method of contraception is the most effective method of contraception to reduce birthrate, but only 20.3% of users. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence the use of Long Term Contraceptive Methods in Indonesia in IFLS data 2014. This study used cross sectional design and using IFLS secondary data in 2014. The sample in this study were women aged 15-49 years who have been married and use contraceptives as a lot 4.047 respondents. Data analysis was used complex sample multiple logistic regression prediction model. The result of the analysis shows that there are correlation between age variable, education level, residence, job status, desire for more children, the cost of contraceptive service, the place of contraception service, history of abortion, and side effect with use of LCTM. There is no correlation between family income and number of living children with LCTM usage. The most dominant factor in the use of LCTM is the service of contraceptives (PR=6,98). Place of service is the most dominant factor affecting the use of LCTM after controlled by age, education, residence, employment status, wanting more children, contraceptive installation fee, abortion history and side effects. Therefore, the place of government-owned contraceptive services may cooperate with BKKBN to disseminate information on free LCTM services available at government facilities, thereby encouraging the use of LCTM as a contraceptive choice to regulate distance and limit births.
