Abstract

The use of aluminum as a raw material is still the main raw material in various industrial fields. The fuel that has been used in metal smelting furnaces including aluminum uses energy sourced from fossil fuels while this energy is non-renewable energy and has disadvantages that besides having low savings, also low factors and melting can also help contaminate quickly melted metal. Induction furnaces use electric energy by melting using induction furnaces the value of higher furnace efficiency and melted aluminum alloy can also be used well. The workings of this induction furnace use alternating current passing through the copper coil which successfully kowi so as to produce a magnetic field in the kowi, and the current caused causes a rapid increase so as to melt the metal. The test is carried out by melting aluminum with different masses and 3 times the melting for each mass of aluminum can be obtained an average of melting for 55 minutes to reach a temperature of 750°C. This electric induction furnace has an efficiency value of 68% while this value is quite good for aluminum melting furnaces.
