Abstract

Introduction. Most blood glucose checking by hospital used chemical analyzer and takes much time. In particular way, fast glucose is needed. Nowadays there is a device called POCT which can do fast glucose checking. Glucose checking with 2 different measure method enable different results. This research was done for knowing the comparison between blood glucose using POCT and chemical analyzer. Method. This research is a comparison, correlation and compatibility test. Medical record of blood glucose which meets inclusion criteria from laboratorium clinic of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Center Public Hospital was taken as a sample, then it was analyzed using Mann-Whitney, Spearman, and Bland Altman test. Result. From 50 samples, the average of blood glucose checking using POCT was 115,4 mg/dL and chemical analyzer was 108,18 mg/dL. The differences of average between POCT and chemical analyzer was 0,069. The correlation of both device was so strong with r= 0,903 and the compatibility was well with value 98% within approval margin with almost perfect concordance correlation coefficient value 0,9574. Conclusion. Blood glucose checking using POCT device and chemical analyzer have no significant differences. So POCT can be used as accurate blood glucose checking device for monitoring and screening pre diagnosis to patient with emergency case.
