Abstract

The research was aimed to determine the effect of rotational speed and type of beans on Screw type grinding machine performance. This research was conducted from August 2019 until October 2019 on street Inspektur Marzuki lrg. Al Hikmah Number. 2072 RT 04 RW 08 Kecamatan Ilir Barat 1 Palembang. This Research uses Factorial Randomized Group Design (FRGD) method in which there are two treatment factor, rotational speed and type of beans . The first factor of this research is the rotational speed of ± 450 rpm (A1), ± 500 rpm (A2) and ± 550 rpm (A3), the second factor is the Peanuts (B1) Red Beans (B2), and Soybeans (B3) The parameters of this research consisted of machine work capacity, machine fuel consumption,and fineness of the results of the mill. The effective capacity of the machine is the average working ability of the machine in carrying out and completing the grinding process of the unity of the operating time which is measured directly when conducting research in the field. The result of this study showing, that highest machine effectiveness capacity, is in the A2B1 treatment, that is rotating speed ± 500 rpm and kind of peanuts for 15.67 kg/hour. fuel demand is the amount of fuel used during the operation of the tool in units of time, A3B1 treatment has the best fuel consumption, with average of fuel consumption for 0.33 litre/hour. While, on fineness of milling result, the highest percentage is in the A2B1 treatment. Which is the rotating speed is ±500 rpm and the result of kind peanuts is more finest.
