Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the improvement in learning outcomes of second grade students at Elementary School 129 Palembang in calculating multiplication operations and the distribution of whole numbers using Cuisenaire rod props. This research uses classroom action research methods using 3 cycles of action; this classroom action research has stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data collection techniques which are used arenamely work performance tests and observations. From the results of the research, it was found that student learning outcomes experienced an increase in each meeting. What can be seen and started in the first cycle is that students obtained a final score of 68 with 26.5% of students who achieved the target student mastery learning, in the second cycle the average value increased to 78.2 with 70.6% of the students reaching the target of students’ mastery learning, then in the third cycle the final score showed 100 with 100% of the students or all of thestudents reaching the target of students' mastery with 74 KKM scores. With an increase in each cycle and both scores on the third cycle that reached the indicator "very well",it was proven that the Cuisenaire Rod props could improve learning outcomes in multiplication material and the distribution of whole numbers and that Cuisenaire Rod props were effectively used in learning activities.
