Abstract

Research has been on the formulation of erythromycin stearate solid dispersions in chitosan at various variations of sodium alginate concentration by drying-heating-cooling technique. Erythromycin stearate is formulated with chitosan and sodium alginate as its polymer. Erythromycin stearate preparation into solid dispersion forms using chitosan and sodium alginate polymers with drying-heating-cooling technique aims to increase the solubility of steaart erythromycin. Solid dispersion component consisting of erythromycin steaart and chitosan by using variations in the concentration of sodium alginate and temperatures of 60oC and 40oC. This is evidenced by testing the physical solubility and pH of the formula, decreasing the peak of the crystal in the best formula can be seen in the XRD results indicate the change in the shape of particles from crystals to amorphous in solid dispersion preparations. Percent value test was also conducted to see differences in the weight of the preparation before and after it was dispersed. The results of FTIR research showed that no chemical interactions occurred, so that erythromycin stearate could be formulated into a solid dispersion preparation containing erythromysis stearate with chitosan and sodium alginate polymers. The results of SEM studies show that there is a change in the initial form of erythromysis stearate from rood to ball-like after dispersion.
