Abstract

This research aimed to determine growth and yield of pakcoy cultivated using floating culture system in swampy land with different substrate composition and harvest time. This research conducted from March until May 2019 in Pelabuhan Dalam (104º45’33,984”E; 3º6’41,382”S), Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera. This research was arranged in Randomized Block Design Factorial (RBDF) consist of two factors. The first factor was ratio of substrate composition, consisting of three composition i.e. M0 = Soil without reamun (Control), M2= Combination of soil + reamun in ratio 1:2, and M2 = Combination of soil + reamun in ratio 2:1. The second factor was the different of harvest time, consisting of four diffrent time of harvesting i.e. P1 = Harvested at 35 days after planting (DAP), P2 = Harvested at 38 DAP, P3 = Harvested at 41 DAP and P4 = Harvested at 44 DAP. The results of variance analysis showed the combination treatment of different substrate composition and harvest time which were no significant effect on all variables observed. Reamun substrate in ratio 1 soil : 2 reamun (M1) gave the highest growth and yield of pakcoy. However, the harvest time at 44 DAP of Pakcoy was the best treatmeant, but it was not different from the harvest time at 41 DAP (P3).
