Abstract

Cucumbers are creeping or half-creeping plants that are included in annual crops. The Important pests of cucumber plants in general are leaf beetles Aulacophora sp., aphids Aphis gossypii and leafminer fly Liriomyza spp. Bioinsecticides utilize antagonistic microorganism formulations which contain certain microbes such as fungi, bacteria, protozoa or nematode that are toxic to pests. Microorganisms are often used in producing microbial insecticides such as B. thuringiensis. One of the pathogenic microorganisms against insects is B. thuringiensis, this bacterium is able to form protein crystals with the name δ-endotoxins. This protein is toxic to insects that belong to Lepidoptera, Diptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera order. This study was aimed 1) To find out the diversity of Arthropods associated with cucumber after various insecticides applied; 2) To increase the yield of cucumber plants. This research conducted in the Entomology Laboratory of the Plant Protection Departement and ATC, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, from August to October 2019.Data on number of leaves, number of branches, number of flowers, fruit length and fruit weight were analyzed using one factor Anova by clustering. Arthropod data analyzed with Shanon diversity index, Barger-Parker species domination index and Pielou species evenness index. There were 4 treatments in this study, namely B. thuringiensis bioinsecticide, Commercial Bt Insecticide, Chemical Insecticide and Control. This study results 8 orders consist of 9 families and 16 species in pitfall trap, and 6 orders consist of 14 families and 17 species in the pan trap. Arthropod diversity in cucumber plants applied by various insecticides was in the moderate category because the highest diversity index value reached 1.86. The highest yield of cucumber plant weight with an average of 225,42 (g), the highest length of cucumber with an average of 19,18 (cm), and the highest number of cucumber with an average of 3,07.
