The teacher in the main process works with communication where communication really needs voice. If dysphonia is functional and it is slow to be treated in the long term, it can cause organic dysphonia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of risk factors with dysphonia based on VHI-10 in Public Elementary School Teachers in Kelurahan Sukayaja Palembang Method: Cross sectional design study. Data was collected at all Public Elementary Schools in Kelurahan Sukajaya Palembang from November-December 2019. The sample of the study were 60 teachers who teaches and as the homeroom teacher who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis using the Bivariat Fisher test with the help of SPSS software. Results: The prevalence of dysphonia in this study occurred at 6.7% in female teachers with the largest percentage of age at > 30 years which is 5.0%. Based on other risk factors, dysphonia is found in the length of teaching > 2.5 years which is 5.0%, teaching more than 1 subject is 6.7%, teaching hours per week ≤ 40 hours is 5.0%, and the number of students in the classroom > 28 people is 5.0%. The average noise in the class is 57.47 ± 3.44 dB, there is no noise above 85 dB. In all classes there are no loudspeaker facilities. There are 1.7% incidence of dysphonia in passive smokers and 5.0% are not active or passive smokers. Conclusion: Risk factors such as age, sex, length of teaching, number of subjects, number of teaching hours, availability of loudspeakers, noise levels, number of students, use of chalk and smoking habits had no significant relationship with dysphonia.
