Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the response of insects attracted to each mulch color treatment that will have an impact on the incidence and intensity of viruses and fungi.Viruses and fungi that attack the red curly chili plant are important diseases in the chili plants, and can be transmitted by several factors. .One of them is physical factors, namely color and mulch. .The study was conducted using seven colors of plastic mulch and repeated three times, and using a randomized block design (RCBD). .The parameters observed included the incidence of diseases caused by viruses and fungi, the severity of diseases caused by viruses and fungi, as well as the fruit weight and the number of fruit. Based on the results of the study, the plants which were applied to the plastic mulch had a significant effect on the incidence of jaundice and curling, and had a significant effect on the intensity of jaundice and curling, but did not significantly affect the weight and number of fruit. .The treatment using yellow is the treatment that produces the highest incidence and intensity of viral diseases.
