Abstract

Exudate is one of the symptoms found in the retina of the eye with diabetic retinopathy (DR) disease. Exudate segmentation is one of the important stages in the process of detecting DR in retinal images. Segments Updated to Update. Exudate with other objects in the retinal image. This final project will discuss the stages in the process of exudate segmentation using the morphology operations method. The stages consist of 4 main stages, namely the pre-processing stage, exudate segmentation, optical disk segmentation (OD) and the results of the analysis. Image in the pre-processing process through image conversion, green channel extraction, and morphological closure. The exudate segmentation process uses morphological hat-top, morphological hat-top, and thresholding. Generating from a new image that is the image of a prospective exudate and the image of the exudate is then subjected to an operation to eliminate OD on the two images, the final result required to produce an exudate image. This morphology operations method was tested on the DIARETDB1 image dataset and then evaluated and obtained an average accuracy value of 99.16%.
