Abstract

The objectives of this study are to: (1) Analyze the factors that influence farmers in selecting local varieties and superior varieties at Gelebak Dalam Village Banyuasin Regency (2) Calculating the level of production and income differences resulting from the use of local varieties of seeds and superior variety seeds at Gelebak Dalam Village Banyuasin Regency. The research method used was a survey method, the data obtained were processed by tabulation, descriptive and using SPSS 22. The results of this study are factors that influence farmers in selecting local variety seeds and superior variety seeds in in Gelebak Dalam Village Rambutan Sub-District Banyuasin Regency is farming experience. While other factors namely rice production, land area, seed price, land ownership status and farm income did not significantly influence farmers in selecting seeds. Production and income among farmers using local varieties and superior varieties do not exist statistically significant differences.
