Abstract

ABSTRAK Secara umum, Pulau Sumatera terbagi atas fore-arc basin, magmatic arc, dan back-arc basin. Daerah penelitian ini terletak pada perbatasan antara volcanic arc dan back-arc basin sehingga tidak termasuk kedalam bukit barisan yang merupakan volcanic arc. Geomorfologi daerah penelitian terdiri dari aspek pendukung yaitu aspek geomorfologi, stratigrafi dan struktur geologi. Aspek morfologi sendiri menggambarkan tentang bentukan morfologi, relief dan satuan geomorfik pada daerah penelitian berdasarkan perspektif morfologi dan morfogenesa pada daerah penelitian terbagi menjadi Perbukitan tinggi denudasional dengan lereng curam (PC), Perbukitan tinggi denudasional dengan lereng miring (PM) dan Kanal Sungai. Metode penelitian yaitu dengan melakukan studi literatur tentang daerah penelitian dan pemetaan lapangan. Berdasarkan hasil pemetaan geologi, daerah penelitian terdiri atas tiga satuan batuan yaitu satuan intrusi andesit (Qv) tersebar sebanyak 10%, satuan breksi vulkanik (Qhv) sebanyak 55% dan satuan batupasir tuffan (Tpok) sebanyak 35%. Hasil penelitian studi khusus daerah penelitian didapatkan jenis material piroklastik berupa breksi gunung api. Matriks berupa vitric tuff (tuff gelas) dengan ukuran butiran > 2 mm, dan ukuran fragmen pada singkapan yang beragam > 4 cm berupa andesit. Endapan breksi gunung api memperlihatkan bahwa fasies vulkanik berada pada fasies proksimal menuju medial berdasarkan endapan breksi menuju endapan piroklastika. Kata Kunci: Karakteristik, Batuan Breksi, Formasi Qhv.
