Abstract

Dropout rates is the proportion of the school-age group who are not finishing level of education. The aims of the research is to : 1) Analyse the causal factor of children dropping out school, and 2) Provide logistic regression models of the numbers dropping out of school. The data used in the study of binary logistic regression analysis, other than that used Chi-Square and exact fisher to test freedom between the independent variable against droupout rate. The best models using backward elimination shows significant variables affecting dropout rates the education of household head (X2) and motivation of children (X6). Education of household head (X2), the tendency of children dropping out of school who have the household who did not finish elementary schooldid not finish elementary school 3,28 times compared with the head of the household who did not finish elementary school. The motivation of children (X6), the tendency of children dropping out of school have very low/low motivation inclination 522 times compared to children who have very low/low motivation has a high motivation/very high.
