Abstract

Nutritional status is a balance between the needs and nutritional intake needed for growth and development, especially for children under five. One of the cases of nutritional status is a toddler whose nutritional status is below the red and thin line, which if there is no follow-up continuously, the toddler will experience a case of malnutrition. According to the Data of the Palembang City Health Office in 2018 Puskesmas 1 Ulu was the puskesmas that had the highest number of BGM and underweight toddlers, which was the highest at 76 toddlers (4.3%). One of the efforts of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia to improve nutrition problems is by providing supplementary food recovery (PMT-P). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the PMT-P program for toddlers in the BGM category and underweight by using a systems approach (input, process, output). This study uses qualitative methods and by taking informants using purposive sampling. The informants consisted of the Head of the Puskesmas, the Health Guides in the Puskesmas, the MCH Midwives, the Posyandu Cadre and the Target Toddler. The results showed that there were still some constraints, the input is that cadres from HR cadres did not get the training obtained about the PMT-P program, there are still facilities and infrastructure that the posyandu does not have in the form of baby scales for methods which are also not optimal because those who have technical guidelines are only from nutrition officer. Whereas from the process variable there are obstacles in the distribution section that is not according to the schedule of taking the next month PMT-P at the Puskesmas by the target mothers, for the accuracy of the target Puskesmas using BB / U calculations and there is no direct monitoring of the target toddlers who have been given additional food recovery The suggestion for the puskesmas is. conduct training for all posyandu cadres on PMT-P programs, complete facilities and infrastructures to support PMT-P programs both at Puskesmas and posyandu, provide PMT-P technical guidelines to posyandu so that cadres know PMT-P guidelines, provide counseling to toddlers about food additional side so that toddlers can achieve good nutritional status and the existence of sector traffic cooperation between nutrition officers and cadres to conduct distribution at posyandu and supervision of target toddlers who get supplementary food recovery whether or not really consumed according to the recommendations given.
