Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the impact of capital structure (DER) and profitability (ROE) to firm value (PBV) in food and beverage company at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This research used the signalling theory as the main theory. The sampling method of this research is purposive sampling. In this way, the number of samples is 19 food and beverage companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The type of data is secondary data by using documentation. The population of this research is 86 observation. Analysis techniques in this research are multiple linear regression by using the SPSS method. The Result of this research showed that the proxied of capital structured with DER has a negative effect and not significant on the value of company proxied by PBV, although the proxied of profitability with ROE has a significant effect on the value of company proxied by PBV. The implication of the theory in this study showed that the companies must provide information to investors about what the company has done in realizing the owner’s wishes. For further researchers it is recommended to add other independent variables, such as Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), Long Term Debt To Equity Ratio (LDER), Return On Capital Employee, Return On Investment (ROI), etc.
