Abstract

Investors must consider the companies' performance measurement to make a investment decisions. The primary focus of that is profit and cash flow (Operating Cash Flow, Investing Cash Flow, Financing Cash Flow). Besides, investors also consider the benefits of their investment, one of them is cash dividend. The objective of this research is to examine the influence of performance measurement (accounting income, cash flow, and cash dividends) to stock return. Sample is taken from manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange from periods of 2004 to 2008. In this research, also used two control variables (age and size of company) to divide the sample into the three :,/ages of a corporate life cycle (growth, mature, decline). Accounting income, cash flow, and cash dividends variables is measured by looking at the changes of them from the previous year. Stock return is measured by calculating the rate of return each month (return sub period)M by the arithmetic method (the average rate of return sub period). Analysis and hypothesis testing, is using a multiple linear regression analysis with backward method. The results show that in growth stage, the variables is included in the model of research properly is accounting income, OCF, and /CF. Accounting Income and OCF influence stock returns partially in this stage. In Mature stage, FCF is included in the model and influences stock return significantly. In decline stage, only the accounting income is included in the research model and also influences the stock return significantly. But in the research cannot prove that stock return it?fluenced by cash dividend because by using backward method, this variable is not proper to included in the research model
