Abstract

Backgrounds: Incidence of dermatitis at Kertapati Public Health Center was entered into the 10 biggest diseases in the working area of Kertapati Public Health Center with an increasing number every year from 2013 to 2018. In 2017 the prevalence of dermatitis disease was 16.7% and was in 4th in 10 biggest diseases in Kertapati Public Health Center working area with a total of 1255 cases. And in the year 2018 the number of dermatitis incidence in Kertapati Public Health Center reaches 1,708 cases. The research aims to determine the factors related to the incidence of dermatitis. Methods: This research is a analytical study and cross-sectional studies approach was designed to conduct this research. 66 respondents in the work area of 7 Ulu Public Health Center Palembang selected through purposive sampling. Temperature and humidity measurements are performed in the respondent's living room using the Thermohygrometer tool. Data were collected through interviews measurement. Analyzed using Chi-square test and multiple logistic analysis. Results: The results of bivariate analysis showed that out of the 8 variables studied there were 6 variables related with incidence of dermatitis, cleanliness of clothing (P-value = 0,032), Skin cleanliness (P-value = 0,012), cleanliness of towel (p-value = 0,024), cleanliness of bed (P-value = 0,009), source and physical quality of water (P-value = 0,032), and allergic factor (p-value = 0,039). The temperature and humidity factors of the house are not related to the incidence of dermatitis. Based on multivariate results, the bed cleanliness variable is the variable most associated with P-value = 0.001 and the prevalence of Ratio = 26,853 (95% CI: 4,036-178,654). Conclusion: The poor level of cleanliness of bed can be risky to cause dermatitis, so it is expected that the people can make efforts to improve the cleanliness of the bed with the washing routine and change the bed sheet.
