Abstract

This research aims is to find out whether the cost of social responsibility which is issued by the company (cost of employee welfare and cost of community and environment) either simultaneously or partially, affects the performance of mining companies which are listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEi) during the years 2004-2009. The test is carried out using multiple linear regression analysis. The result showed that (I) costs of corporate social responsibility ( cost of employee welfare and costs of community and environment) have simultaneously significant effect toward the company's internal performance (activity performance and profitability performance), (2) cost of employee welfare does not significantly influence the profitability performance, but for other company's internal performance (activity performance), the entire cost of corporate social responsibility have significant effect toward the company's internal performance, and (3) costs of corporate social responsibility have no significant effect either partially or simultaneously toward the company's external performance (firm value)
