Abstract

This study is entitled Analysis of the Management of Fire Extinguisher Retribution Inspection in the City of Palembang. This research is motivated by the lack of maximum management of inspection fees for fire extinguishers conducted by the Department of Fire and Disaster Management (DPK-PB) of Palembang City. The purpose of this study was to determine how the management of fire extinguisher inspection fees conducted by the DPK-PB Palembang. To find out the problem, the theory used is Rahardjo Adisasmita's management theory, which looks at the problem of 3 functions: planning, implementation, and supervision. The research method used is a qualitative research method based on the results of in-depth interviews with key informants and documentation. The results showed that the management of inspection fees for fire extinguishers in the city of Palembang in their implementation still lacked awareness of the compulsory retribution to make payments and lacked explanation about payments at the Palembang City DPK-PB office. Under supervision, there is still a lack of firmness by the Palembang City DPK-PB such as revocation of building use permits for entrepreneurs who do not equip businesses with fire extinguishers. This study recommends that the Palembang City DPK-PB establish special counters for payment of fees, and decisive actions such as revocation of building use permits for business owners who do not equip places with fire extinguishers.
