Abstract

Dynamometer is a device that is made to optimize the measurement parameters of the force in the machining process. With the making of dynamometer, it is expected to know the magnitude of the cutting force and become a reference for evaluating material machinability because basically the cutting force has a direct influence on heat formation, tool wear, surface quality and workpiece. accuracy. To collect the cutting force, the necessary data acquisition system is designed and developed with the necessary hardware and software created and connected to it. The cutting-style signal is captured, amplified, conditioned, converted into a digital signal and read by the microprocessor. The result of the design and manufacture of the dynamometer, this dynamometer has the working principle and the function of each component of several components, the dynamometer as the place where the load cell clamp or as a replacement tool post on the lathe. Then the load cell is a tool that has a starin gauge inside, this component serves as a sensor for detecting the magnitude of the cut style as input. The next component is arduino nano as a controlling microcontroller for programming continued using the HX711 amplier component as a signal amplifier of the load cell to be sent to the arduino microcontroller. For the media output used laptop / pc as a medium-sized reader cutting force that occurs during the turning process. From the results of testing the variable dynamometer which is variable cutting speed (Vc) and feeding motion (f) the amount of cutting force obtained is the cutting force on cutting speed (Fc). The magnitude of the cutting force if the cutting speed is higher then the cut force value obtained will be lower.
