Abstract

Poor Environmental sanitation among boarding house like garbage strewn and gutters can cause a bad odor, toilets do not fit the health standards, as well as the physical condition of the house which can be annoying. This research was conducted with the purpose to determine the environmental sanitation boarding houses X and Y as well as the feasibility of the boarding house. This was qualitative research used descriptive method. Information obtained from observation, checklists and interview sheet. Informants in this study had 10 people consisted of 2 key informants namely administrative staff Scales and village midwives of Indralaya indah. Another informant was chairman of the local boarding house and occupant boarding X and Y. Boarding validity test conducted trough triangulation method. The result showed that physical condition and both palate clean and not prone to make accident absence of cracks in the ceiling of the permanent walls, the floor used ceramic tile, there was room windows, ventilation> 10% of the floor area, clean water in both house boarding was colorless, odorless, tasteless, clean water always available. Water's Ph in boarding house X was 4.93, meanwhile in boarding house Y was 5,1. Disposal garbge in boarding house Y is form of trash bin, meanwhile in boarding house X, garbage piled at place combustion. Wastewater Disposal in boarding house X was form of septic tanks and boarding Y in the form of a ditch. Both boarding house used latrines's goose neck model.water quality in each boarding house is not in accordance with the quality standards and boarding house X does not have a landfill for garbage. Occupants of boarding houses X and Y could used items such as carboard paints cans to make rubbish bins and scheduled time to dispose garbage to temporary disposal and also scheduled time to work together.
