Abstract

This study analyzes the Library Building of Campus B of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang which is a four-story building with reinforced concrete structures and one-story steel frame roof with a total height of 16.73 meters, a total length of 50 meters and a total width of 40 meters. In this analysis there are two models namely the existing model and alternative models. The building uses a structural system with a dual system type (dual system) in the form of a moment bearing frame and shear walls that are spread over several points. In the existing model, structural behavior is checked, namely capital participation, shear force, story drift, eccentricity and torque, as well as vertical and horizontal irregularities. In 1 (existing) building declared safe from vertical and horizontal irregularity because not found any type of vertical and horizontal irregularity. Therefore, continued with model two which is an alternative model by removing all the sliding walls and raising the column dimensions by 50 mm and the result was the building was declared safe from vertical and horizontal irregularities because not found any type of vertical and horizontal irregularity. The alternative design is able to produce structural strength that is as safe as the one model (existing) even without sliding walls, this is able to reduce the volume of reinforced concrete so that it is more economical with the performance of the structure to the loads that work are still in safe conditions. Modeling and analysis of building structure performance is carried out in three dimensions using the Etabs v15.1.0 program.
