Abstract

Cauliflower is a vegetable crop that has high economic value. This aims of study were to determine the effect of vermicompost and compost on soil water content, C-Organic soil, N soil and plant also the production of cauliflower in floating agricultural systems. This research was carried out in the Floating pool and Soil Physics and Conservation Laboratory also the Chemistry, Biology, and Soil Fertility Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research was conducted in September to December 2019. This study used a Randomized Block Design Factorial, which contained 8 treatments consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the vermicompost factor consisting of 4 levels, namely V0 (0 g plant-1), V1 (250 g plant-1), V2 (500 g plant-1) and V3 (1000 g plant -1). The second factor is compost with 2 levels, namely K1 (500 g plant-1) and K2 (1000 g plant-1). The results showed vermicompost treatment significantly affected soil water content, C-Organic soil, N-total soil and plant and flower weight. There is an interaction between vermicompost and compost treatment of soil water content and soil C-Organic. The combination of vermicompost and compost treatment with the highest dose gave higher yields on C-Organic soil, N-total soil and production of cauliflower plants compared to other treatments, whereas vermicompost dosage of 250 g plant-1 and compost dosage of 500 g plant-1 are the treatments that provide the best response to soil water content, C-Organic soil, N soil dan plant also the production of cauliflower in floating agricultural systems.
