Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) Describe vegetable marketing channels in Sukapulih Village, Pedamaran Sub-District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (2) Analyze fluctuating vegetable prices (unstable) in Sukapulih Village, Pedamaran Sub-District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (3) Calculate the elasticity of vegetable price transmission in Sukapulih Village, Pedamaran District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research method is a survey method. The sampling method used for marketing institutions is snowball sampling, while the sampling method used for farmers is simple random sampling with a total of 33 respondents. Data obtained from primary data and secondary data. Vegetable price fluctuations are analyzed using a simple (unweighted) price index, then for price transmission elasticities processed using simple linear regression. The results showed that there were three marketing channels. The highest price fluctuation in 2019 was in the chilli commodity which reached 10,10 percent, then eggplant 9,84 percent and cucumber 9,15 percent. The transmission elasticity of chilli prices is 0,18, the elasticity of eggplant price transmission is 0,52 and the elasticity of cucumber price transmission is 0,54. This shows that the elasticity of the transmission of vegetable prices in Sukapulih Village has an Et < 1 which means that a price change of 1 percent at the consumer level results in a smaller price change at the farmer level so that the marketing of vegetables in the Sukapulih Village can be said to be inefficient.
