Abstract

Islamic boarding school is an educational institution with a more detailed and in-depth curriculum on Islamic religous knowledge. There is one deficiency in this education system called Pesantren, the students are not supported to recognize the science of skill that will be needed in social life. Therefore, it’s necessary to develop a modern vocational islamic boarding school, which not only steeps into islamic religious knowledge, but also understand the science of skills. Islamic Architectural is applied as the theme, with several principles of Islamic Architectural that used in the design. One of them is responding to the site potential of both surrounding natural conditions and culture. In application to the design, the basic form is adopted from the surrounding buildings, and use the structure of the stage building to respond the conditions of the site around the flood-prone river. The facade of the building is also designed in the form of calligraphy to strengthen the Islamic impression. The site concept applies several elements found in the Qur'an and Hadiths which are designed and integrated in such a way as to produce a magnificent site landscape design.
