Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the effect of NPKMg fertilizer on the growth of oil palm seedlings in pre nursery and to get the best recommendation of NPKMg 15: 15: 6: 4 fertilizer for the growth of oil palm seedlings in pre nursery. This research was started in June to October 2019 in the Kebun Percobaan PT Pupuk Sriwijaya Tbk Jalan Major Zen Lorong Abadi, Sei Selincah, Kalidoni District, Palembang City, South Sumatra 30161. This study used a randomized block design with treatments K = Control, NPK = NPKMg Fertilizer 15: 15: 6: 4 Commercial, NPK KO = NPKMg Fertilizer 15: 15: 6: 4 Pusri 1, SRF = NPKMg Fertilizer 15: 15: 6: 4 Pusri 2. Each treatment was repeated 3 times and each replication consisted of 8 plants. The results showed that the treatment of Pusri 1 gave the best response to the variables of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root volume, and root-shoot ratio, while the highest P and Mg uptake was obtained at the Pusri 2 fertilizer treatment. Pusri 1 showed the highest increase in plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root volume, root-shoot ratio, and soil N, P, K nutrient content compared to other treatments to controls. Pusri 1 fertilizer has a high solubility so that it can be absorbed directly by plants. High solubility fertilizer will quickly provide nutrients needed by plants.
