Abstract

Liquid urea contains nitrogen about 10% to 28% and this liquid is by product from urea factory. This liquid had been appliedd to chilly plants in low dosages (under 0.02%. The plants were died if the application was above this level. The aims of this research were to find out the effect of liquid urea and tillage on soil chemical properties and also to rice plant growth. The experimental design used was Split Plot Design. Results show that tillage affected Soil N, C and rice yield significantly. No tillage increased rice yield, this could be caused by high organic matter content, higher pH and low Al. On tillage lower pH and high Al this was caused by mixing the top soil and subsoil. Liquid urea increased total N, organic C and C/N, plant high, maximum and productive tillers. This means that N from this liquid can as N from other fertilizer, which can stimulate plant growth and yield. The optimum value was achieved at an application rate of 30 kg/ha . This dosage has increased the rice yield to 716 g/m2 compared to without N (355 g/m2). There was no toxic symptom on plant during experiment. Thus this liquid urea can be used as fertilizer and it is suggested to apply 30kh/ha on this field.
