Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth and development of Farm Machinery Management Service in the study area to get its optimal goals to fulfill the conditions of the Service Units sourced from the regulations of the minister of agriculture. The study was conducted in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province from September to November 2019. The research method used in this study was survey method. Data collected in this research were primary data and secondary data. The parameters observed in this study were the availability of the number of equipment, the rental price of farm machinery, the operational performance of the Farm Machinery Service Business, Farm Machinery Management Service system development problems, and Farm Machinery Management Service system development strategies. The results of this study were the management of Farm Machinery Management Service in the swamp area of Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province, which still needs to be improved. Compared with the Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 25 year of 2008, the Farm Machinery Management Service was still necessary improving both organizational structure, economic, technical skill and training of human resources. The development of the Farm Machinery Management Service system was intended to support the achievement of agricultural mechanization goals that help farmers achieve increased production. And the existence of Farm Machinery Management Service plays an important role in overcoming the needs of agricultural machinery to cultivate land, irrigation, harvesting and post-harvesting.
