Abstract

Grounding system is an important component in an electric power system, where the grounding system functions as a protection system to get rid of excess current when interference occurs. In some cases such as mobile substations, Mobile Diesel Generators, and other projects related to strong current electricity require grounding systems. Inefficient to spend energy, time and money to make a good grounding system but only used temporarily. This research was carried out by comparing the two groups of earth electrodes which were designed to be easily planted and removed. The results of this study prove that lightweight galvanized brick electrodes can have a reduced effect on earth system resistance up to 11.836%. While the additive galvanized pipe electrode can provide a reduction in the resistance of the earth system up to 62.075%. Based on the comparison of the two electrodes, the light brick galvanized pipe electrode can reduce resistance in the earth system, but it is not yet significant.
