Abstract

To improve the quality of education and support teaching and learning process in the Department of Dental Nursing, Health Polytechnic of Palembang, well-established lighting systems are needed to give a sense of comfort and safety which is in line with national standard, namely the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 03-6567-2001 and General Electrical Installation Requirements (PUIL) 2011. This study aims to determine the number of lighting points, types of lamps used, and determine the amount of electricity used specifically for lighting used following the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) number 03-6575-2001 and PUIL 2011. Lighting systems used in the building of the Department of Dental Nursing, Health Polytechnic of Palembang consisting of 6 floors, 65 rooms, and corridors for each floor use LED tube and LED bulb, where after calculating they both have a large intensity of lighting which is in line with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) number 03-6575-2001. The amount of electricity used specifically for the lighting system used in this building is 132,246 kWh / day.
