Abstract

The purposes of this research are to describe the vegetable marketing channel in Segayam Village Gelumbang Subdistrict Muara Enim Regency. Analyzing fluctuating vegetable prices in Segayam Village, Gelumbang Subdistrict Muara Enim Regency. Calculating the transmission elasticity of the price of vegetables at the consumer level to the prices at the farm level at Segayam Village, Gelumbang District, Muara Enim Regency. This research was conducted in December 2019. The method used in this research is survey method. The sample of sample farmers is using a simple random sampling method with a sample of 33 farmers, while the sample marketing institution uses the snowball method with a total of 5 collecting traders, 2 large traders, and 2 retailers. The results of this study are (1) The most widely applied marketing channel for eggplant, long bean and katuk vegetable farmers in Segayam Village is channel 3. (2) Fluctuations in prices of eggplant, long beans, and katuk in 2019 have increased from 2018. The biggest fluctuation is eggplant = 14.76 percent. (3) Transmission elasticity of eggplant prices β = 0.728. Long beans β = 0.588. Katuk β = 0.297. The elasticity of the transmission of vegetable prices shows that the value β <1 means that the marketing is inefficient.
