Abstract

The purpose of this research were to: (1) analyze the level of income of oil palm plasma farmers in Sumber Deras village Mesuji district Ogan Komering Ilir regency, (2) measuring the needs of a decent life of oil palm plasma farmers in Sumber Deras village Mesuji district Ogan Komering Ilir regency, (3) analyze the level ability of smallholders in rejuvenating oil palm plants in Sumber Deras village Mesuji district Ogan Komering Ilir regency. This research was conducted in Sumber Deras village Mesuji district Ogan Komering Ilir regency. Data collection was carried out in December 2019. The results of this study are (1) The income of oil palm plasma farmers in Sumber Deras Village dependson thevery high category where the average income of farmers from oil palm farming is Rp3.865.649,92 per arable area per month with the area of plasma farmers being 2,00 hectares, (2) The level of welfare of plasma farmers in Sumber Deras Village is already prosperous because the total household income earned by farmers is Rp5.094.832,01 per month greater than the standard value of Living Needs (KHL) of the prevailing farm family totaling Rp4.220.075,31 per month to produce a difference of Rp.874.756,70 per month, (3) Plasma farmers are able to meet the needs of rejuvenation of oil palm plants by borrowing capital and saving themselves, this is because there is still a difference between the farmer's household income with household expenses and installment fees to be paid by farmers, amounting to Rp2.291.480,38 per area arable per year when farmers make capital loans and amounting to Rp5.145.451,18 per arable area per year when farmers save themselves.
