Abstract

Waste of electrical energy is still occurring until now, 80% of the waste is caused by human error. To reduce the level of waste, we need a system that can monitor the use of electrical energy in a building and can be controlled by disconnecting and connecting electrical current to an electronic device. IoT-based smart building system is applied to support the system that will be made so that it can measure electrical energy that is used for 7x24 hours whose data can be accessed anytime and anywhere. The system that is designed, is using an Arduino MEGA microcontroller coupled with an ACS712 voltage sensor and current sensor and an ESP 2866 module to transmit data. The device is also equipped with an RTC module to record the transmission time. The design of the system uses a prototyping method which has 7 stages starting from the process of gathering needs to using the system. The making process of a website is using some programming languages such as PHP, HTML, JavaScript and programmed with the CodeIgniter framework. Meanwhile, the making process of mobile applications is using the Ionic framework and the TypeScript, HTML and JavaScript programming languages. Websites and mobile applications that have been successfully created are tested using the black box method. Whereas the device tested the sensor and got the accuracy of the voltage sensor at 99.84% and the current sensor at 94.179%. Then the system is tested by sending data to find out the success of data sent and received. The final results of this system design are device, websites and mobile applications that can be applied to any building.
