Abstract

Rice quality were affected by the variety of paddy and characteristic of the rice milling unit. Different rice variety and the different space of rubber double roll are believed to affect the the rice qualities. The objective of the research was to know the the rice milling qualities of Ciherang variety and Mekongga variety at the different space of rubber roll. The research had been done in Tanjungan Village Pengandonan District of Ogan Komering Ulu District at November 2018 until finish. The research was compiled by using Factorial Block Randomized Design (Rakf) with two treatment factors of the different kind of variety in two level which were Ciherang variety and Mekongga variety and the rubber roll space with 3 level which were 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm and 0.7 mm. Parameters research were the effective capacity (kg / h), milling yield and head rice percentage. The results showed that paddy variety and the rubber roll space had the very significant effect to the effective capacity (kg / h), milling yield (%), and the head rice percentage (%). The combination of Ciherang with 0.7 mm rubber rol space was the best combination treatment, with 230 kg/h effective capacity, milling yield 83.33% and 88.02% of head rice.
