Abstract

This research objective was to design the body cooling load device for hand tractor operator on tillaging activity to reduce fatigue, determined the rate of consumption and work load level , then to know the performance of cooling load device. This research was conducted on February 2019 until November 2019 at Agricultural workshop and Machinery Laboratory of Agricultural Technology, faculty of Agricultural , University of Sriwijaya, campus of Indralaya and device assessment was conducted on paddy field of kenten laut rural area, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The methodology of this research was technical design with graphic, table, and picture was presented. Parameters include engineering design and technical assessment. The treatment was made of two differecen condition with three replication, which was 1) The conditionof hand tractor operator without body cooling device and 2) The condition of hand tractor operator by using body cooling device. According to the collected data, the work load level of hand tractor operator without using body cooling device had the average IRHR value in the morning was 1.48 bpm which with in range of light work load level category with average body temperature was 38ºC and for hand tractor operator by using body cooling load device had the average IRHR value in the morning was 1.26 bpm which with in range of light week load level category with average temperature 36ºC. 0.5ºC till 1ºC is lange the of reducing temperature capability.
