Abstract

This research aims to obtain information about the effect of Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning model on concepts understanding level and students activeness on virus material in class X SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. The research method used Quasy Experimental with design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampling method used Simple Random Sampling technique. The instrument used is test questions in the form with 20 multiple choice questions. Observation instrument of students activeness and learning implementation used observation Checklist. The response instrument of students use questionnaires with a Likert scale. The result showed that the average final test of the experimental class was 82,81 (good) and the control class was 73,73 (enough). Percentage of student activeness the experimental class reach 100% (good and very good). Level understanding concept data tested using t-tes and activeness data tested using the Mann-Whitney test. The result of hypothesis test showed that level understanding concept data the sig value was 0,003 (sig<0,05) and students activeness data the sig value was 0,00 (sig<0,05) it means that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that there was a significant effect of Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning model on concepts understanding level and students activeness on virus material in class X SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya.
