Abstract

The objective of this research was to obtain the best discharge of ceramic emitter that can be seen from the horizontal wetting distance and the value of the H / V ratio. This research was conducted in December 2019 until January 2020 in the soil and water engineering laboratory of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Sriwijaya University. This study used three emitter discharge treatments namely 6.6 ml / min, 8.3 ml / min and 10 ml / min. The soil used is ultisol had 0.9% density and initial soil water content of 9.5%. Porous ceramic emitters are made from 1 part clay and 1.5 part sand (1: 1.5) with a dripline which burried 15 cm depth below soil surface. Irrigation was carried out for 30 minutes with an interval of 6 minutes. During irrigation the air temperature averages 290C and is not directly affected by solar radiation. The parameters used consist of the horizontal wetting distance, and vertically above and below of the dripline and H / V (ratio of horizontal to vertical wetting distance). The results showed that the wetting pattern was determined by the relation of the wetting distance horizontally and vertically, so it could be by polynomial regression. All treatments showed an H / Va ratio and an H / Vb ratio  1. The 10 ml / minute emitter discharge treatment can operated up to 90 minutes and showed that the best wetting pattern based on the largest horizontal wetting distance, which is 15,62 cm and vertical, which is 14.5 cm from the emitter which is buried 15 cm below the surface of the ground. The relation between horizontal and vertical wetting distances for the emitter discharge treatment of 10 ml / min can be by polynomial regression, H (Va) = 0,043(Va) 2 + 12,89 while using a vertical distance above the dripline, and H (Vb) = 0,056(Vb) 2 + 13,15 while using a direction vertical wetting distance below the dripline. The relationship between time and wetting distance the horizontal above the dripline and below the dripline can be expressed by the equation Ha(t)= 0,161(t) + 2,33, Hb(t) = 0,146(t) + 2,48, while the vertical direction can be expressed by the equation Va(t) = 0,138(t) + 1,91 and Vb(t) = 0,151(t) + 0,91
