Abstract

The purposes of this research are to: 1) Calculate the household income of rice farmers in Telang Jaya Village Muara Telang Sub-district Banyuasin Regency, 2) Calculate community consumption in Telang Jaya Village Muara Telang Sub-district Banyuasin Regency and 3) Describe the rice marketing channel in Telang Jaya Village Muara Telang Sub-district Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in the Telang Jaya Village Sub-district of Muara Telang Banyuasin Regency. The location was chosen intentionally with consideration that Muara Telang Sub-district is the largest rice producer in Banyuasin Regency and Telang Jaya Village is the largest rice producer in Muara Telang Sub-district. Collecting data was conducted on Desember 2019 until January 2020. The sampling method was using Purposive Sampling with the number of respondents were 30 samples of farmers. The result of research showed that the average household income of a rice farmer in the village of Telang Jaya is IDR 202.584.318,10/yr. Household income are derived from rice farming income IDR 143.164.318,11/lg/yr then added to income outside rice farming IDR 59.419.999,99/th. The average household consumption of rice farmers in Telang Jaya Village is IDR 49.786.400,00/yr. There are two different marketing channels of rice farmers in Telang Jaya Village. The first marketing channel is farmers, traders and rice factory outside the area. And second marketing channel is farmers, rice milling and retailer.
